I must admit I stay with old technology. If it works. I don't listen to vinyl and occasionally try to sell off my 2000 lps. I like cds. I will admit that I don't worry about the next big thing and for the most part am going backwards in time. I went shopping last week and bought 10cds. Only Adele 30 was new. Billie Holiday and Lester Young were the 2 oldest. I also picked up Joan Osborne, the Waterboys, Tim Finn and a compilation called Rogues Gallery .As for cassettes, I have a Fostex, a machine that lets one record on all 4 tracks at once. I record myself in simple arrangements. For the big doings I have a 24 track studio that records on cd. I have a working VHS player that I use occasionally but prefer dvds. I don't stream. I don't have a cell phone. After I leave work, I don't want anyone to be able to reach me during my commute. I find the technology that I have use for and disregard the rest. Why would I do otherwise?
