I'm surprised that Ms. Wilson loves Meryl Streep. I heard that she was overrated. LOL. I will give her music a listen. Emmylou( that's how she spells it, John) Harris has been one of my favorites for nearly 50 years. In 1973 I went to see Gram Parsons at Max's Kansas City in New York and she was in the band. I've seen her many times like at McCarter Theatre in Princeton and at Joe's Pub in NYC ( my lifelong friend Reid Paley played there the next night). I like Lucinda Williams too.

I wonder if Pearl Jam is considered grunge. I prefer them to Nirvana, who I do like. I don't like Alice in Chains or Buffet either ( so some common ground). Are Neil Young and Crazy Horse and/or Credence Clearwater Revival precursors of Grunge. They're two of my top 10.

One of the great things about these times is that one is not bound to current music. Recently, I've been listening to the pop/jazz of the 1930s and 40s. The last four albums that I bought were by Lee Wiley, Mildred Bailey, Billie Holliday and Etta James. It's easier to look into the past than the future. Interesting interview, John. I look forward to receiving your posts.
